Tired of getting tickets in your Chevy Avalanche because your speedometer refuses to do its job?
We bet you are. And we want to take away your pain.
The Chevy Avalanche is a rare breed, with its part-SUV, part-pick-up truck parentage. But its instrument cluster is not so different from others in the GM family, and it has a lot of the same problems – problems that we excel in fixing.
We have on hand the parts and know-how to get your first generation (2002-2006)* Avalanche’s speedometer back in working order and reading accurately. But what if yours is second (2007-2012), you ask? Chances are we can fix that, too, drawing on our network of more than 2,000 GM parts vendors. Call us directly (1-800-405-1056) or email us now and we’ll make sure you get what you need.
*Please be aware that 2003 and 2004 Avalanche models have been known to experience total cluster power failure, with all gauges failing at once. Repair of these clusters may incur an additional charge. Find out more here: Notice Concerning Power Failure
From Avalanche owners:
Doc. Speedometer is an AWESOME service. Fred walked me through everything from removal to shipping and the turnaround on the repair was great. The added bonus of a life time warranty is just unbelievable. When I received the repaired unit back, and proceeded with the install, I was amazed at how well it worked and looked. The unit looks like it came from the factory…
A big thank you to Doc. Speedometer and I will recommend your service to anyone who needs this type of work…
Thanks for saving me hundreds of dollars and the great professional manner.

2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
I had purchased a 2003 Avalanche and the instrument cluster had very erratic readings on the oil pressure gauge, and alternator gauge. Thought I would just live with it, that was until the speedometer started registering 100mph while doing 15 or 20mph. Found Fred’s site while searching for information on replacement. Talked to Fred personally, liked what I heard, and within minutes I received a prepaid USPS shipper, at no expense to me. Shipped it on a Wednesday, arrived at Fred’s on Friday and Monday I received a USPS notification a package was in route back to me. Received it on Wednesday and within 10 minutes it was installed and worked perfectly. Also in the package was a lifetime warranty. A super fine repair. I recommend this fix to anyone. Fred did a tremendous job.
