Common Questions
How does the shipping work?
After you complete your order online you’ll automatically be taken to a page where you can generate your USPS shipping label. Stick it to the box you put your instrument cluster in and drop it off at any USPS Post Office, they’ll know just what to do with it and you won’t have to pay anything. After I repair your gauge cluster I’ll ship it straight back to you and it will arrive at your door step all ready to put back in.
How much will it cost?
At Dr.Speedometer I’ve got one low price which includes replacement of ALL your gauge motors -not just one or two. Eventually all your GM’s gauges are going to wear out – wouldn’t you rather take care of them all right now so you don’t have to worry about another one going out later?
Also, I pay for shipping both ways. You’ll be provided with a pre-paid USPS shipping label, simply tape it to your package and drop it off at any USPS Post Office.
You also get my Amazing Lifetime Guarantee which means if you ever have another gauge go out on your instrument cluster I’ll fix it for no charge.
All this for $189, I think when you add up all you get at Dr. Speedometer you’ll agree that we offer the best package out there.
Will my odometer mileage be reset to zero?
You’ll be glad to know that your odometer mileage will not be lost or accidentally reset to zero by taking out your GM speedometer! After repair your vehicle will display the exact miles on the odometer as before.
Can I drive my vehicle while it’s out?
Yes, you can start and drive your vehicle without the instrument cluster!
How long will this take?
It’s frustrating waiting on something to come in the mail, especially if it’s holding you up and causing a major inconvenience in you life! When you use Dr. Speedometer you get fast service and quick turn around to get your vehicle back on the road. Service time will vary based on your distance from Missouri, usually 6-10 days in total but it can vary greatly by location. Most instrument clusters can be repaired the same day we receive them and then shipped out the next day. We make an effort to get you back on the road as soon as possible.
Is your work guaranteed?
You betcha, your covered for as long as you own the vehicle, check out our Amazing Lifetime Rebuild Guarantee here.
Isn’t it cheaper to just buy a used one?
Excellent question and one I’ve been asked a million times. Here’s the thing, with GM speedometers buying a used one is like rolling the dice and hoping for the best. After all, there’s a reason your gauge went out, most people don’t know this but the original stepper motors GM used were defective and eventually they all go out. That’s also why we replace all the motors of every instrument cluster we receive, not just the one that went out. If you replace your cluster with another used one there’s No Guarantee it won’t die on you just like yours did a few weeks after you put it in, probably right after the Junk Yard warranty runs out.
Even if you can find a used one for less than my cost with shipping included I can assure you it won’t come with my Amazing LIfetime Guarantee and you’ll have a tough time finding one with the same mileage on the odometer as your vehicle has, do you really want to take it to the dealer to have the mileage re-calibrated?
